Youghal Sightseeing Trail:
At the Lighthouse head into town walking past the Clockgate as as far as the Almshouses and Tyntes Castle. Continue straight on as far as Cork Hill. Take first turn left on Cork Hill, walk along route of town walls, as far as steps to Clockgate.
Come down Clock Gate steps, turn right and head back towards the Lighthouse.
From there we head out of town on main N25 road, into the countryside. For 2 kilometres you are on the N25 but it is a wide road with an excellent hard shoulder on both sides. Then you turn left onto the R633, visit the famous Ballyvergan marshland.
At the crossroads turn left for Redbarn Strand (signpost for the Quality Hotel) and from there head back to Youghal via the magnificent 8 kilometre beach, the sand dunes and return to the Lighthouse.
